About me
I’m a product designer studying at the University of Limerick. I’ve always been curious about how things work and how they could work better.
As a kid I wanted to become an artist or an innovator. Product design felt like the perfect combination of both. It lets me be creative while still thinking about how things function and why they exist.
I have a lot of interests outside of design. I enjoy learning languages and travelling. I also enjoy art in many different forms. I’m particularly interested in human anatomy. Learning about the human body helps me understand how it can influence the way we design products.
I tend to have a critical mind. I like to question things and look at why they work the way they do. This is something I bring into my design process. I don’t want to create something just because it looks good. I want the design to make sense. It should be functional and feel natural to use.
Travelling has made me notice how differently people experience the world. Living in a multigenerational household has done the same. It has shown me how many small problems exist in everyday life. Some things have simply never been given enough thought.
I want to keep learning and see where product design can take me. I’m interested in learning from other people and discovering what I can achieve through design. Most importantly I want to create things that have a reason to exist and make everyday life a little better.
